RAJSHAHI, Aug 18, 2026 (BSS)- Divisional Commissioner of Rajshahi Dr. A. N. M. Bazlur Rashid has  directed authorities concerned  to implement the ongoing development activities of the division quickly with quality, and  strengthen inter-departmental coordination aimed at  improving  the excellence of public service.
 
He gave the directives today while presiding over a meeting of the Divisional Development Coordination Committee at his office.
 
The meeting was attended by the Deputy Commissioners of the eight districts of the division, representatives of law enforcement agencies, and heads of various government departments.
 
At the meeting, the Food Department informed that in the current season, against the target of paddy procurement in the division, 1 lakh 63 thousand 349 metric tons of paddy and 2 lakh 39 thousand 656 metric tons of rice have already been procured.

Under the Food Friendly Program, the list of 8 lakh 33 thousand 751 beneficiaries has been updated. In addition, rice and flour sales activities are ongoing at 165 OMS centers.
 
The Agriculture Department said that Aman cultivation has started and fertilizer supply is normal. Farmers are being made aware to produce safe crops, use organic fertilizer and stop using harmful substances.
 
On behalf of the Water Development Board, it was informed that canal excavation to remove waterlogging in Chapainawabganj and protection of the Padma riverbank, and excavation and de-pollution of the Barai river in Rajshahi-Natore are underway.

The Ichamati River Rejuvenation Project is being implemented in Pabna. The district administration's cooperation has been sought in acquiring the necessary land for the implementation of the project.

The Department of Environment informed the meeting that illegal poultry farms in densely populated areas, encroachment and pollution of rivers and canals, and ETP activities of industrial establishments are being monitored.

On behalf of the Regional Election Office, the progress of preparing the voter list and polling center list ahead of the upcoming local government elections was presented.
After settling claims and objections on the voter list, the final list will be published on 31 August.
