NATORE, Aug 11, 2026 (BSS) - The district administration has recovered 1.37 acres of government land in the South Choukier Par area of Natore town, adjacent to a Homeopathic College after it remained illegally occupied for 35 years.

The recovered land is estimated to be worth around Taka 14 crore.

The eviction and recovery drive was conducted on Monday afternoon by Natore Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md Azahar Ali and Assistant Commissioner (Land) Md Farhad Hossain.

The administration recovered the land from a local resident, Mohsin Ali. Red markers were placed around the recovered property and signboards declaring the ownership of the district administration were installed.

The Assistant Commissioner (Land) told BSS that the land, recorded under government-owned No. 1 khas khatian, had naturally turned into a pond and remained illegally occupied for around 35 years.

He said the recovered property will be reclassified and subsequently leased out by the government in accordance with official procedures.
