NARAIL, Aug 6, 2026 (BSS) - A housewife was electrocuted in Jokarchar village under Kalia upazila of Narail district this morning.

The deceased was identified as Fatema Khanom (30), daughter of Khalil Mollah of Jokarchar village in the upazila.

According to relatives of the deceased and local sources, housewife Fatima was electrocuted when the tin roof of their house was electrified due to an electrical short-circuit. Later, family members took her to Kalia Upazila Health Complex, where duty doctors declared her dead.

Kalia thana Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Idris Ali said the body has been handed over to the relatives after completing necessary legal procedure.
