DHAKA, July 30, 2026 (BSS) - The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), in a joint operation with police, recovered 11,200 Yaba tablets from the cargo store of a courier service in Teknaf of Cox's Bazar.
A BGB press release said the Teknaf BGB Battalion conducted a joint raid with members of Teknaf Model Police Station at the cargo store of Steadfast Courier Service in the Islamabad area of Teknaf municipality.
During the search, a parcel declared as a Bluetooth speaker aroused suspicion. Upon opening the device, the raiding team found that its electronic components had been removed and replaced with six black tape-wrapped packets containing a total of 11,200 Yaba tablets concealed inside, the release mentioned.
The release said the preliminary investigation revealed that the parcel had been sent from Narayanganj to Teknaf.
It was later deposited at the courier service for return to the sender on the pretext that the product was "incorrect".
Witnesses said the rider left the workplace immediately after depositing it.
The seized Yaba tablets are estimated to be worth Tk 33.6 lakh.
