KHULNA, July 27, 2026 (BSS) - Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)
arrested an alleged drug dealer with 3,950 pieces of Yaba tablets during a
special drive in Kotalipara upazila of Gopalganj district on Monday.
Members of RAB-6 (Sadar Company, Bhatiapara Camp), conducted the raid around
11.45 am in Thanarpara area under Ward No. 2 of Kotalipara municipality as
part of the force's ongoing anti-narcotics campaign in line with the
government's "zero tolerance" policy against drugs, said a RAB-6 press
release here.
The arrested was identified as Sajib Mia, 36, son of Majid Mia, a resident of
Thanarpara village under Kotalipara Police Station of the district.
The suspect was detained after being challenged by the raiding team and a
search led to the recovery of 3,950 Yaba tablets from his possession, it
added.
RAB officials said the operation was carried out based on intelligence inputs
and preliminary interrogation.
The recovered narcotics were seized as they suspected that the seized Yaba
tablets had been stored for illegal trafficking and sale and a case was filed
against the accused under the Narcotics Control Act with Kotalipara Police
Station.
Later, he was handed over to the police for further legal action.
In the press release, RAB-6 said intelligence surveillance and special drives
