RANGPUR, July 21, 2026 (BSS) - The Crime Review Meeting for June 2026 of 
Rangpur Metropolitan Police (RpMP) was held at the conference room of the 
RpMP Commissioner's Office in the city on Tuesday afternoon. 
 
RpMP Commissioner Mohammad Abdul Mabud presided over the meeting.
 
The meeting reviewed the law and order situation for the month of June, 2026, 
the overall picture of crime, anti-drug operations, traffic management, 
execution stats of warrants, investigation activities and various aspects of 
public safety. 
 
In June, 2026, 338 accused people and 74 drug dealers were arrested and 1.114 
kilograms of ganja, 947 pieces of Yaba tablets, 22 grams of heroin, 33 pieces 
of Tapentadol tablets and 16 bottles of phensedyl-like ESkuf syrup were 
recovered.
 
The RpMP Chief said that intelligence-based, technology-based and integrated 
operations should be further strengthened to maintain law and order, 
eradicate drugs, theft, kidnapping, robbery, fraud, juvenile gangs, 
cybercrime and all types of crimes. 
 
He directed all the RpMP's concerned units to take preventive measures before 
the crime is committed, increase the number of warrant executions, arrest 
absconding accused and ensure speedy and quality investigation of cases. 
 
He further directed that the 'zero tolerance' policy of the RpMP against 
drugs should be strictly implemented. 
 
"In addition to continuing continuous operations against drug dealers, users 
and criminal gangs, a safe and crime-free metropolis should be built with the 
cooperation of the people," he said. 
 
Regarding traffic management, the Police Commissioner said that regular 
special operations should be conducted against unfit, undocumented and 
reckless vehicles to establish order on the roads, reduce traffic congestion, 
keep illegal parking and footpaths free from encroachment in the metropolis. 
 
He instructed all members of the traffic department to perform their duties 
with professionalism, honesty and humanity to ensure the safety of 
pedestrians, increase public awareness about traffic laws and reduce 
accidents. 
 
"RpMP will continuously conduct operations and public welfare activities with 
the aim of protecting the lives and property of the people, improving the law 
and order situation, eradicating drugs, controlling crime and building a safe 
city," he said.
 
Additional Commissioners of Police of RpMP Naresh Chakma and Toffael Ahmed, 
Deputy Commissioners of Police Md Habibur Rahman, Md Mahfuzur Rahman, Md 
Abdur Rahman, Maruf Ahmed and Sanatan Chakraborty, Assistant Police 
Commissioners of various zones, Officers-in-Charge of six police stations and 
other senior police officers attended the event.
