GAZIPUR, July 12, 2026 (BSS) - Government officials and employees of Gazipur district have decided to donate their one-day basic salary to the Prime Minister's Relief and Welfare Fund to support flood-affected people across the country.

The decision was taken at the monthly meeting of the District Law and Order Committee held at the Gazipur Deputy Commissioner's Office today, chaired by Deputy Commissioner Md. Nurul Karim Bhuiyan.

At the meeting, Gazipur-5 lawmaker AKM Fazlul Haque Milon announced donating his one-month basic salary to the flood relief fund.

Later, lawmakers from all five constituencies of Gazipur agreed to contribute their full one-month salaries.

The district administration said the collected amount from government employees would be deposited into the fund within three working days.

Heads of different government offices also expressed their willingness to participate in the humanitarian initiative.

Officials and public representatives hoped the joint effort would encourage similar support initiatives in other districts.
