CHATTOGRAM, April 10, 2026 (BSS)-A mobile court fined SBL brick kiln Taka two 
lakh for illegally cutting soil from cropland in Satkania upazila in the 
district today. 

Upazila Nirbahi Officer and Executive Magistrate Khondaker Mahmudul Hasan 
conducted a drive in the North Satkania area of Kaliaish Union on Friday.

The SBL brick kiln near Zafar Ahmed College in North Satkania has been 
cutting fertile topsoil from agricultural land for a long time, violating 
environmental regulations. This practice not only hampers crop production but 
also destroys the natural structure of the land.
 
Acting on a complaint, the administration conducted a drive against illegal 
soil cutting.

A mobile court fined the brick kiln Taka 2 lakh for the offence. Satkania 
Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Khondaker Mahmudul Hasan said the crackdown on 
such illegal activities will continue to protect the environment and preserve 
agricultural land.
