CHATTOGRAM, April 08, 2026 (BSS)- Mobile court here seized 1042 liters of edible oil which were allegedly being packaged and attempted to sell out illegally in the market.
The court fined two commercial ventures Taka 60,000 for hoarding edible oil illegally.
Executive Magistrate of District Administration Sakib Shahrear in assistance with officials from BSTI and RAB-7 conducted the raid.
The mobile court was conducted in different areas under Bayezeed Bostami and Panchlaish thana in the city from last night to early morning.
Official sources said 1042 liters of edible oil were seized from the warehouse of Amanat Packaging and Marketing in Gulbagh area under Bayezeed Bostami thana.
The accused commercial enterprise has been engaged in illegal business and marketing of the fortified soybean oil to retail shoppers without BSTI approval.
Around ten thousand packets and empty bottles were also seized during the drive.
In separate drive, two grocery shops at Sholoshahar area in the city were fined Taka 60,000 under Consumer Rights Protection Act for hoarding edible oil illegally and stored in an unhygienic condition, the sources said.
