TANGAIL, April 7, 2026 (BSS) - Goats were distributed among beneficiaries in the second phase of the Integrated Livestock Development Project (ILDP) to enhance the socio-economic conditions of backward minority ethnic communities living in the plains of Madhupur in Tangail.
The distribution programme was organized by the Upazila Livestock Department and Veterinary Hospital at Gachabari Fatema Rani Primary School grounds in Arankhola union this afternoon.
Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md. Zubair Hossain inaugurated the programme as the chief guest.
A total of 632 goats along with floor mats were distributed among 316 beneficiaries from minority ethnic groups during the event.
The programme was presided over by Upazila Livestock Officer Dr. Shahiduzzaman. Among others present were Upazila BNP President Zakir Hossain Sarkar, General Secretary Nasir Uddin, Upazila Project Implementation Officer Rajib Al Rana, BRDB Officer Mostafizur Rahman, Organizing Secretary of the Central Committee of Bangladesh Nationalist Minority Party Advocate Jana Jetra, media personnel, and local leaders.
The event was moderated by Dr. Zahidul Islam.
Organizers expressed hope that the initiative would contribute significantly to improving livelihoods and achieving economic self-reliance among the beneficiaries.
