KHULNA, April 7, 2026 (BSS)- Following a request from business leaders, the 
government has allowed shopping malls, markets and shops to remain open until 7pm every day.

The information was disclosed in a public notice signed by Khulna Deputy 
Commissioner Hoore Jannat here today.

In line with the Prime Minister's directive, a set of measures has been 
enforced immediately to save electricity, improve energy management and 
ensure public interest.

According to the directive, all shopping malls, markets and retail shops in 
the district must close by 7pm every day. All billboards and advertising 
lights must also be switched off by the same time.

Besides, all fairs, trade fairs and cultural programmes being held at 
different places in the district must end by 7pm.

"The instructions must be strictly followed," the notice said, adding that 
legal and administrative action will be taken against any person or 
organisation for violating the direction under the existing laws.
