NARAIL, April 7, 2026 (BSS) - A man was killed after being run over by a train in Lohagara upazila of the district this morning.
 
The deceased was identified as Akram Molya, 60, son of Khalek Molya, a resident of Charbakjuri village in the upazila.
 
The accident occurred around 8:00 am on the western side of the Madhumoti railway bridge in Purba Charkalna area. 
 
According to police and family members, Akram Molya was returning home along the railway track when a Dhaka-bound train coming from Khulna struck him, killing him on the spot.
 
Officer-in-Charge of Lohagara Police Station Abdur Rahman confirmed the matter and said that police recovered the body from the scene. He added that legal procedures have been initiated in connection with the incident.
