RAJSHAHI, April 7, 2026 (BSS)- The District Administration has issued a directive that all shopping malls, markets, and shops in Rajshahi must close by 7 pm.

This instruction was announced in a public notice signed by Rajshahi Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate Kazi Shahidul Islam today.
 
According to the notice, in line with the decisions taken at a meeting on April 4 between the Prime Minister and representatives of business organizations across the country, as well as directives from the Cabinet Division, all shopping malls, markets, and shops in Rajshahi district, including the metropolitan area, must close by 7pm
 
The notice further states that billboard lights must be switched off by 7 pm. 
Any ongoing or scheduled fairs, trade fairs, and cultural events across the district must also conclude within the same timeframe.
 
Legal action will be taken against any individual or business establishment that violates this order.
