RAJSHAHI, Feb 22, 2026 (BSS) - A school teacher was killed today when a stone-laden drum truck struck and dragged him along the road in Puthia upazila of the district.

The deceased was identified as Abdur Razzak, 50, son of Golam Rasul of Dhopapara village. He taught at Syedpur High School in the same upazila.

Eyewitnesses said the accident occurred around 11:30 am on the Natore-Rajshahi Highway in front of the Fire Service Office in Puthia Sadar.

Abdur Razzak was standing by the side of the highway, talking to locals on his way to school, when the truck coming from Rajshahi hit him, killing him instantly.

Police from Paba Highway Police Station recovered the body after being informed.

Highway Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mozammel Haque said efforts are underway to identify and detain the truck involved in the accident.

After completing legal procedures, the body was handed over to the family members, he added.
