Army provides free treatments to 1829 poor people in Sirajganj

SIRAJGANJ, Jan 29, 2026 (BSS) - The Bangladesh Army organized a free medical camp and distributed medicines among 1829 poor and needy people in Kazipur upazila of the district on Wednesday.

The medical services were provided by the Army's 11th Infantry Division, Bogura, and the 40th Field Regiment Artillery through a day-long free medical camp held from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm at Char Bhanudanga Ichamati High School, a remote area of Kazipur.

According to sources from the 11th Infantry Division, the initiative was taken to support distressed and underprivileged people, particularly those affected by the erosion of the Jamuna River in the area.

During the camp, a total of 654 male patients, 945 female patients and 240 children received free medical check-ups and necessary medicines.

Local residents expressed their gratitude to the Bangladesh Army for undertaking the humanitarian initiative, saying it brought much-needed healthcare services to people living in hard-to-reach areas of the district.
