Shibu Market Modern Fire Station inaugurated in N'ganj

NARAYANGANJ, Jan 10, 2026 (BSS) - Senior Secretary of Home Ministry Nasimul 
Ghani inaugurated the newly-constructed Shibu Market Modern Fire Station 
after unveiling its plaque in Narayanganj today. 

After inaugurating the fire station at 11am today, he, as the chief guest, 
recalled his early training as a fire service officer during his teen time 
and described himself as a former volunteer of the Fire Service and Civil 
Defence. 

Expressing satisfaction to inaugurate the modern fire station, he thanked all 
concerned, including the Director General (DG) of the Fire Service and Civil 
Defense (FSCD) Department. 

The Home Affairs Secretary emphasized the need to increase the number of volunteers 
to cope with future risks, including earthquakes, and stressed strengthening 
the media wing to enhance public awareness through campaigns. 

Ghani called upon all the members of the Fire Service to remain steadfast in 
serving the people.

He also planted an Amrapali tree on the station premises as part of the 
programme.

The FSCD Department DG Brigadier General Muhammad Jahed along with 
departmental directors, the Deputy Commissioner of Narayanganj, 
Superintendent of Police, Deputy Director of Ansar, officials of the Ministry 
of Home Affairs and Fire Service, media personnel, local volunteers, and 
people from various walks of life were present at the inaugural ceremony.

Upon the arrival of the chief guest at the fire station premises, the 
Director General of the FSCD welcomed him and escorted him to the dais. 

A smartly turned-out contingent of firefighters, led by Warehouse Inspector 
Md. Zahirul Islam, presented a guard of honor. 

The discussion session began with a welcome address by Deputy Commissioner of 
Narayanganj Md Raihan Kabir, who praised the Fire Service for its significant 
role in handling various emergencies and accidents.
 
In his speech, the DG highlighted the challenges faced by the Fire Service 
and sought continued cooperation from the district administration, police, 
and local residents.
