BAGERHAT, Jan 10, 2026 (BSS) – Bematra Union unit of BNP of the istrict on Friday held a discussion meeting and offers prayer seeking divine blessings of the departed soul of three-time former Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia.
Bemarta Union BNP of the district sadar organised the programme at the BNP office adjacent to Baitpur bus stand with Union BNP President Alimuzzaman Rikta in the chair.
Barrister Sheikh Md. Zakir Hossain, the BNP-nominated candidate for the Bagerhat-2 (Sadar Kachua) constituency, was present as the chief guest.
Speaking on the occasion, Barrister Sheikh Md. Zakir Hossain said, if the paddy sheaf symbol wins this parliamentary constituency in the next general election, there will be no place for terrorist and extortionists in the party.
He said, “We have to remember that the paddy sheaf symbol is the symbol of BNP and Tarique Rahman and if the paddy sheaf symbol wins in this constituency, BNP Chairman, Tarique Rahman, will be made victorious”.
In this connection, he called upon the leaders and activists of BNP and its affiliated bodies in the area to go to the doorsteps of voters with the 31-points charter of BNP and seek their mandate in the upcoming polls for BNP candidates.
Bagerhat District BNP Member Secretary Mozaffar Rahman Alam, District BNP Leader Sardar Wahidul Islam Paltu, Monirul Islam Khan, Sadar Upazila BNP President Syed Nasir Ahmed Malek, General Secretary Abul Kalam Azad Bulu, BNP Leader Mohammad Moin Uddin Ahmed, Sharif Mostafazaman Litu, Organizing Secretary Journalists Kamruzzaman Shimul and Sheikh Mohidul Islam were present.
Former Chairman of Bemarta Union SM Imdadul Haque, former banker and BNP leader Sheikh Nazrul Islam, BNP Leader Sardar Nazrul Islam, Mohammad Abul Kalam Azad, Md. Sumon Fakir, Mohammad Masum Mallick, Mohammad Ripon Mallick, Mohammad Shahadat Hossain, Mohammad Zafar Sheikh, Labor Leader Selim Bhuiyan, Women's Party Leader Shirina Begum, Pilot Renjina Ahmed Priyanka also present at the event.
Bemarta Union BNP General Secretary Tahidul Islam Rana hosted the progaramme.
Later, prayers were offered seeking eternal peace of the departed soul of the uncompromising leader Begum Khaleda Zia.
