SYLHET, Jan 9, 2026 (BSS) - Advocate Samar Bijoy C. Shekhar was elected 
president and Advocate Mohammad Azizur Rahman general secretary of the Sylhet 
District Tax Lawyers Association (SDTBA) for 2026.

The results were announced Thursday night (Jan 8) by Election Commissioner 
Mohammad Sadarul Hasan Chowdhury at the association office in Mendibagh, 
Sylhet. 

Voting ran from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, with 329 of 368 registered voters casting 
their ballots.

Four candidates were elected unopposed, including Mohammad Ali Khokon as 
vice-president and Asma Ara Begum as assistant secretary. 

Other office-bearers and executive members include Sayem Khan, Advocate A. S. 
M. Mubinul Haque Shaheen, Abzal Mia Talukdar, Mosammat Israt Jahan Nipa, 
Sirajul Hossain Ahmed, Md Suleman Hossain Khan, Mrityunjoy Dhar Bhola, Kawsar 
Mahmud Chowdhury, Md Rafiqul Haque, Md Hasnu Chowdhury, Md Safikul Islam, and 
Md Abul Fazal, Advocate.
