KHULNA, Jan 1, 2026 (BSS) – One person was killed and another injured in a road accident in front of Minakshi Cinema Hall under Daulatpur Police Station in the city this morning.

The deceased was identified as Montu Sheikh, 50, son of Moslem Sheikh of Dakshin Para in the city.

Police said Montu was crossing the road around 10am when a speeding motorcycle coming from the opposite direction hit him, causing severe head injuries. He died on the way to Khulna Medical College Hospital.

Sub-Inspector Zakirul Firoz of Daulatpur Police Station said the motorcycle rider, Jim, 23, sustained serious injuries in the incident and is currently undergoing treatment at Khulna Medical College Hospital.

The motorcycle involved in the accident has been seized by the police.
