RANGAMATI, Jan 1, 2026 (BSS) - The free book distribution festival for the 2026 academic year was held today across various educational institutions in the district.

The main event took place at the auditorium of Al-Amin Islamia Fazil (Degree) Model Madrasa in the district town, where Hill District Council Member Md. Habib Azam attended as the chief guest.

The programme was presided over by Maulana Nurul Alam Siddiqui, Principal of Al-Amin Islamia Fazil (Degree) Model Madrasa. 

Among others, Muhammad Mostafizur Rahman, Principal of the district BM Institute, Anwar Al Haque, President of Rangamati Press Club, Abdul Alim, Vice Chairman of Islamic Center Rangamati, MA. Jahangir Alam, Vice Principal of Al-Amin Fazil Madrasa, Associate Professor Md. Ismail, Maulana Mahtab Uddin, along with guardians and students of the madrasa were present at the event.

New textbooks for the 2026 academic year were distributed among the students. The students expressed happiness and excitement upon receiving the new books.

Besides the district town, similar book distribution programmes were held at various educational institutions across all 10 upazilas of Rangamati district, ensuring timely access to textbooks for students.
