RAJSHAHI, Jan 1, 2026 (BSS) - Four traders were killed and another sustained injuries when a speeding truck rammed into a banana market at Jhalmalia under Puthiya Upazila in the district this morning.

The deceased were identified as Islam Uddin, 60, Muhammad Sentu, 40, Manker, 38, and Muhammad Siam, 15.

The accident occurred at around 7:15 am when a sand-laden truck rammed into the banana market on the Rajshahi-Natore highway of the upazila, Officer-in-Charge of Paba Highway Thana Mozammel Haque Kazi, told BSS.
