Quiz competition on land law and services held in Munshiganj

MUNSHIGANJ, Nov 15, 2025 (BSS) - A district-level final quiz competition on basic knowledge, land laws and land-related services was held in the district today. 

A prize distribution ceremony and seminar for participating students were also organized as part of the event.

The programme, organized by the district administration, took place at the District Shilpakala Academy with Deputy Commissioner Fatema Tul Jannat attending as the chief guest. 

A total of seven leading educational institutions and 80 students from the district’s six upazilas took part in both group and written quiz segments. Winning participants received certificates, crests, and cash prizes.

The ceremony was presided over by Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Sharif Ullah. 

Among others, Additional Superintendent of Police (Finance and Administration) Mohammad Kazi Humayun Rashid, Assistant Commissioner (Land) Golam Rabbani Sohel, and student Zubaida Khatun Arpa delivered speeches. 

Senior officials including Deputy Director of Local Government Department Mousumi Mahbub, Additional District Magistrate Md. Rezaur Karim, and Additional Deputy Commissioner (Overall) Muhammad Mushabberul Islam were also present.

In the written quiz competition, Zubaida Khatun Arpa of Outshahi Radhanath High School secured first place, while Tausif Ahmed and Habiba Akhter of Louhajang Pilot High School placed second and third, respectively. 

In the team segment, Haldia Bahumukhi High School claimed first place, followed by Baligaon High School in second and Malkhanagar High School in third.

Speaking at the event, the deputy commissioner highlighted the importance of land awareness, stating that land-related issues remain one of the biggest challenges in daily life and contribute significantly to civil and criminal case laws in the country. She stressed the need to prepare students with essential knowledge for the future.

Recently, the district administration published ‘Bhumikotha’, a booklet aimed at raising awareness about land-related laws and services among teachers, students, and the general public. The booklet, edited by Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Sharif Ullah, has already been distributed across educational institutions and used in upazila-level competitions.
