NATORE, Nov 13, 2025 (BSS) - A day-long free medical camp was held today at Jonail ML High School in Baraigram upazila of the district, providing essential health services to over a thousand underprivileged people.

The camp was organized by the Baraigram Upazila Samity in Dhaka, aiming to extend healthcare support to the rural poor.

Dr Shams Uddin, former Civil Surgeon and current President of the Baraigram Upazila Samity, formally inaugurated the camp in the morning.

Local leaders and Mahtab Uddin, Acting Headmaster of Jonail ML High School, were present at the opening ceremony.

A team of specialist doctors offered free primary health check-ups and medical consultations to the participants. The medical team included Bone and Joint Specialist Dr ATM Shafayet Shams Rocky, Medicine Specialist Dr Asibul Islam Tanvir, and Gynecologist Dr Mushfika Sultana.

The team conducted consultations and examinations covering a wide range of common health issues.

In addition to the consultations, attendees-including students from the local school-received free blood group testing, helping to raise awareness about blood donation and personal health monitoring.

Organizers said the initiative was aimed at supporting low-income families and improving access to basic healthcare services in remote areas of the upazila.
