DINAJPUR, Nov 13, 2025 (BSS) - The government today distributed 164 goats and floor mats among 77 small ethnic groups people to improve the socio-economic and living standards of the backward people living in the plain land of Chirirbandar upazila of the district.
Upazila Nirbahi officer (UNO) Fatema-Tuz-Zohra distributed the goats and floor mats among the people of ethnic groups as the chief guest at a function held at the upazila parishad premises this afternoon.
Under the Livestock Department's development project, 2 goats and 5 floor mats were distributed among each of 77 families of backward small ethnic groups living in the plains.
In her speech, the chief guest said the current government has set an example by distributing free goats in this way to improve the quality of life of the poor and small ethnic groups at the grassroots level of the country.
Upazila Livestock Officer Md. Raihan Ali presided over the event.
Among others, Upazila Youth Development Officer Md. Hamidur Rahman, Upazila Cooperative Officer Basudeb Chandra Das, Upazila Youth Development Officer Mohammad Raihan Ali, General Secretary of Chirirbandar Press Club Morshed ul Alam and others were present.
