Army provides free treatments to poor people in Rangamati

RANGAMATI, Nov 10, 2025 (BSS) - The Rangamati Sadar Zone of Bangladesh Army organized a free medical camp and distributed medicines among poor and marginalized residents of Levapara village in Harangipara area of Kaukhali upazila today.

The day-long medical camp was held at the grounds of Harangipara High School, aiming to ensure healthcare access for underprivileged people living in remote hilly regions.

During the camp, medical services were provided to local men, women, children, and the elderly by a team of healthcare professionals, including Major Jannatun Naeem DGO, Gynecologist at Rangamati Sadar Hospital, Dr. Abir Das, Junior Consultant and Pediatrician and Captain Nahida Akhtar, Medical Officer. 
The team conducted free health check-ups and distributed essential medicines to the patients.

Speaking to BSS, Major Minhajul Abedin, Officer of Rangamati Zone, said the Army continues to stand beside the people by offering humanitarian and welfare services in addition to maintaining law and order in the district.

“The Army has been regularly organizing such medical camps to support the marginalized communities living in the remote areas of the hills. These welfare initiatives will continue in the future for the well-being of the local people,” Major Minhajul added.

Local representatives, including Ghagra Union Parishad Member (Ward No. 3) Montu Ranjan Chakma, were present at the event.
