BAGERHAT, Nov 7, 2025 (BSS) - A free seed and fertilizer distribution programme has been launched in Mollahat upazila of the district as part of the government's agricultural incentive initiative for the Rabi season.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Shyamananda Kundu inaugurated the programme on the Upazila Agriculture Office premises on Thursday noon. A total of 960 marginal farmers have been brought under the incentive this year.

Upazila Agriculture Officer Md Matior Rahman presided over the event, while Upazila Livestock Officer Dr Md Hasan Ali, Additional Agriculture Officer Md Abul Hasan, and Sonali Bank Manager A. Sabur Howlader, among others, attended the programme.

According to the Upazila Agriculture Office, each beneficiary will receive mustard, wheat, khesari, sunflower, and moong seeds along with DAP and MOP fertilizers.

Agriculture officials said the initiative will encourage marginal farmers to expand cultivation during the Rabi season and contribute to increased food production.
