BANDARBAN, Nov 5, 2025 (BSS) - The Bangladesh Army has extended various forms of assistance to the needy and helpless residents of Bandarban, reaffirming its commitment to humanitarian and community welfare activities in the hill district.
The aid distribution programme, organized by the Bandarban Army Region, was held on Wednesday morning at the region premises.
Major Parvez Rahman, GS-2 of the 69 Infantry Brigade, attended the event as the chief guest and distributed the assistance among beneficiaries.
As part of the initiative, corrugated iron sheets were handed over to homeless families for house construction, sewing machines were provided to destitute women to support their self-employment, and chairs were donated to the Laimi Para Sarbika Gram Unnayan Samabayo Samity.
In addition, four helpless families received cash assistance.
Demonstrating continued support for education and welfare, the Bandarban Army Region also took responsibility for six orphaned children of the Bam community. The army will bear all their educational expenses, including materials, for the next one year.
Speaking at the event, Major Parvez Rahman said that the Bangladesh Army’s service-oriented activities in the hilly regions would continue in the future to improve the living standards of local communities.
