CHATTOGRAM, Nov 4, 2025 (BSS) - Police arrested the main suspect of Zahedul murder case on Monday night from the Maulvi Pukur Par area of the city. 

The deceased, Zahedul , 25, of Jangalpara Master Bari area of Atura, Dipu under Panchlaish police station. He was an employee of a restaurant in Gate No. 2 area of the city.

The arrested individual, identified as Md. Hasib, was apprehended in the Hamzarbagh area under the jurisdiction of Panchlaish police station in the city. 

OC Mohammad Solaiman of Panchliash police station confirmed the arrest and stated that it took place in the Maulvi Pukur Par area of the city on Monday night.
 
According to case statement, Hasib allegedly developed an extra marital affair with the wife of Zahid. 

Over the issue, an altercation took place between Zahid and Hasib in the Sangeet residential area on Monday afternoon. At one stage of the argument, Hasib stabbed Zahid with a sharp weapon, leaving him dead on the spot. 

Later, Hasib was arrested from the Maulvi Pukur Par area of the city. 

The deceased's elder brother, Imran, has filed a murder case with the Panchlaish police station.
