Bakery fined Tk 50,000 for unhygienic practices in Munshiganj

MUNSHIGANJ, Nov 4, 2025 (BSS) - The National Consumer Rights Protection Department fined Parijat Bakery Tk 50,000 for preparing foods in unhygienic conditions in Tin Dhak Bazar area of Radhikhale under Srinagar upazila of the district on Monday evening.

The district office of the National Consumer Rights Protection Department conducted a drive in the area and fined the bakery.

The mobile court found the bakery guilty of preparing food in unsanitary conditions. Additionally, the establishment was found storing raw meat alongside cooked food in the same refrigerator, violating health and safety regulations.

The operation was led by Asif Al Azad, Assistant Director of the department district office, who oversaw the monitoring and enforcement activities. 

The fine reflects the government's ongoing efforts to ensure consumer safety and promote better hygiene standards in food businesses across the country.
