CHATTOGRAM, Nov 3, 2025 (BSS) - A woman was killed when a passenger bus hit a motorcycle on the Chattogram-Cox's Bazar highway in Patiya upazila of the district this morning.

The deceased was identified as Fazilatunnesa, 30, of Magura district under Khulna division.

The accident occurred around 9 am in the Nayahat area of Patiya when a speeding bus collided with a motorcycle carrying the woman, her husband, and their children on their way from Khulna to Bandarban.

Fazilatunnesa threw off the motorcycle, died on the spot. Her husband, Ali Muzzaman Sujan, and their children escaped with minor injuries, said Nuruzzaman, office-in-charge of Patiya police station.

On information, police from Patiya Highway Police Station rushed to the spot, recovered the body, and initiated legal formalities, OC added.
