KISHOREGANJ, Nov 2, 2025 (BSS) - A two-year-old boy drowned in a water body in Barakharchar Purbapara area of Kuliarchar municipality of the district today.

The deceased was Farhad, son of Md. Faisal Mia of the area. 

According to family sources, his mother was preparing to cook with the child by her side around 7 am. After a while, the family members started searching after not finding Farhad. At one stage, they found the child lying upside down in the dirty water of a hole near the house. 

He was quickly rescued and taken first to Kuliarchar Upazila Health Complex. Later, he was taken to Bhagalpur Zahurul Islam Medical College Hospital where the doctor on duty declared him dead. 

Kuliarchar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Helal Uddin confirmed it.
