BANDARBAN, Nov 2, 2025 (BSS) - The district administration has distributed financial assistance among the poor, helpless individuals, and students of the hill district to help meet their essential and educational needs.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shamim Ara Rini handed over the aid as the chief guest at a function in her conference room on Sunday morning.
The DC handed over a total of Taka 1.75 lakh in checks to 45 recipients from different upazilas of the district.
According to officials, the beneficiaries had earlier applied to the Deputy Commissioner for support, citing medical, educational, and other urgent needs. The assistance was provided from a special grant fund allocated in favour of the Deputy Commissioner.
Addressing the recipients, DC Shamim Ara Rini encouraged them to use the financial aid wisely and strive for self-reliance.
"We should move forward in our respective fields, leave dependence behind, and establish ourselves in life. We must not beg, but survive in society through our own abilities and hard work," she said.
She also urged everyone to focus on building work-oriented and productive lives.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Md Abu Taleb, Assistant Commissioners and Executive Magistrates Md Sarwar Hossain, Jaya Dutta, and Jalal Md Ashfaq, along with other district administration officials, were present at the event.
