RANGPR, Oct 31, 2025 (BSS) – Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-13 arrested the main accused in the sensational brutal murder case of two minor boys of Rangpur from Mohammadpur village under Patgram police station of Lalmonirhat district today.
 
The arrested killer is Md Azaharul Islam, 38, son of late Pensul of village Chhit Paikan under Gangachara model police station of Rangpur, a press release said tonight.
 
The victims Abdur Rahman, 8, son of Md Abdur Rashid and Maruf, 6, son of Md. Zakirul Islam of the same area went to the nearby Ghagot River in Gangachara upazila to collect stones at 9:30 am on August 5, 2025.  
 
Accused Md Azaharul Islam got angry with the two children and brutally killed them with the help of his accomplices and buried them in the sand extraction point with the intention of disappearing. 
 
After the victim children did not return home on time, their parents found their bodies buried at the sand extraction point of arrested accused Md Azharul Islam at one point during the search.
 
Later, fathers of the victims filed a double murder case with Gangachara model police station on August 7, 2025. 
 
On a tip off, a team of RAB-13 from Rangpur in a raid arrested the absconding main accused in the sensational murder case Md Azaharul Islam from Mohammadpur village under Patgram police station of Lalmonirhat at 9:30 am on Friday.
 
Later, the arrested accused was handed over to Gangachara model police station for legal action, the release added.
