PANCHAGARH, Oct 31, 2025 (BSS) - Continuous heavy rainfall has disrupted normal life in Panchagarh, with waterlogging reported in several low-lying areas of both urban and rural regions, causing immense suffering to residents.

According to the Met Office, this spell of rainfall is likely to continue for another two to three days. Once the rain subsides, the northern region is expected to experience a significant drop in temperature, marking the onset of winter.

Meanwhile, the untimely downpour has turned many mud roads across the district into slippery messes, causing severe inconvenience to the public. Many people have been forced to stay indoors, and concerns have risen over potential damage to crops due to persistent rain.

Jitendranath Roy, officer-in-charge of Tetulia Weather Observation Center, said that a low-pressure system is active over the sea, bringing the ongoing heavy rainfall. He added that after the rain ends, temperatures may fall rapidly, leading to a noticeable cold spell in the region.
