CHATTOGRAM, Oct 23, 2025 (BSS)- Police, in a drive, have arrested seven 
individuals from Anwara upazila of the district while they were preparing for 
a robbery. 

The arrested are Md. Shakib alias Shakil, Mohammad Nesar, Md. Saiful Islam, 
Shahadat Hossain, Md. Ariful Islam Prakash Babu, Md. Habib, and Md. Rajib 
Chowdhury. 

During the operation, police seized a significant amount of country-made 
weapons from their possession. 

The arrests took place in a raid on the south side of Kaliganj Bridge in 
Parikoda Union around 1:30 am on Thursday. 

Chattogram Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Md. Russell told 
journalists that seven members of a robbery gang were arrested during a drive 
by the police. 

The gang tried to escape after sensing the presence of the law enforcers.

The police team also seized a light gun, a fresh cartridge, a pipe gun, an 
iron indigenous weapon, two zombie bats, a baseball bat, a sword, five large 
ramdas, and an axe. 

Two cases have been filed with the concerned police station in this 
connection and efforts are ongoing to apprehend the remaining suspects, the 
ASP added.
