CHATTOGRAM, Oct 22, 2025 (BSS) – Police have arrested two tenth-grade students for their alleged involvement in the murder of Mohammad Tanvir, a ninth-grade student of Alipur Rahmania High School in Hathazari, Chattogram.

The suspects were apprehended during a special drive conducted on Tuesday night, said Officer-in-Charge of Hathazari Police Station Manjur Quader on Wednesday.

The arrestees are Sameer Bin Saif, 16, son of Saifuddin Khaled of Ward No. 4 under Hathazari Municipality, and Md. Rabiul Islam, 16, son of Kabir Ahmed.

According to locals, a group comprising of seven to eight youths attacked Tanvir with a sharp weapon on Tuesday afternoon, leaving him critically injured.

Locals rescued him and took him to Hathazari Upazila Health Complex. As his condition deteriorated, he was transferred to Chattogram Medical College Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries around 4 pm.

Legal action is being taken against the arrestees.
