MANIKGANJ, Oct 22, 2025 (BSS) - The National Road Safety Day- 2025 was observed here in the district today with the theme of "Use quality helmets and maintain safe speed - reduce loss of life and property".

Marking the day, a discussion was held at the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner under the auspices of Manikganj District Administration and the Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA).

Presided over by Additional Deputy Magistrate Nazmul Hasan Khan, it was addressed, among others, by BRTA Assistant Director Mahbub Kamal, Executive Engineer Roads and Highway Shahriar Alam, Principal of Manikganj Technical Training Center Nur Atayeb Ahmed, Manikganj Press Club President Zahangir Alam Biswas and General Secretary Shahanur Islam and Traffic Inspector Abdul Hamid.

BRTA Assistant Director Mahbub Kamal said if anyone is killed in a road accident, the family members of the victim get Taka maximum of 5 lakh if they apply to the BRTA office within 30 days of the incident. But most people do not know it.

The speakers said the Traffic Law should be maintained properly and driving license should be issued while maintaining all procedures.
