NOAKHALI, Oct 21, 2025 (BSS) - The local administration in Hatia has arrested 
46 fishermen and seized two tons of Hilsha fish while conducting drives in 
different areas to protect the breeding of Mother Hilsha.

Hatia Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md Alauddin led the drives conducted over 
the Monday night to Tuesday morning along the Bhasanchar area coasts.

A team of river police accompanied the administration during the drives.

The seized fishes were distributed among the orphanages this noon and the 
arrested fishermen were penalized as per their wrongdoings. 

UNO Alauddin assured that such drives will continue to protect biodiversity 
and national resources like Hilsha fish.
