MYMENSINGH, Oct 21, 2025 (BSS) – The newly built Begum Khaleda Zia Hall was inaugurated at the Bangladesh Agriculture University (BAU) here to provide more residential facilities for the female students.
The inauguration ceremony took place at the conference room of the newly built hall.
Provost of the Begum Khaleda Zia hall Prof. Abdul Kader presided over the inauguration ceremony while BAU vice chancellor Prof. A K Fazlul Haque Bhuiyan joined the event as the chief guest.
BAU Student Affairs Advisor Prof. Md Shahidul Haque, Dean's Council Convener Prof. Md Rafiqul Islam Sardar, Provost's Council Convener Prof. Ruhul Amin, Planning and Development Branch Director Prof. Mosharraf Uddin Bhuiyan, Treasurer (Acting) Prof. Humayun Kabir, Proctor Prof. Abdul Alim and Registrar (Acting) Agriculturist Dr. Md Helal Uddin were present at the event.
Speaking as the chief guest, the BAU VC said, “Begum Khaleda Zia has been a symbol of unity and strong personality in this country. Today is a memorable day for BAU as we got a new hall named after the visionary leader who devoted her life for the country and never compromised with establishing democracy and truth.”
Initially, 350 female students have been allocated seats at the newly built Begum Khaleda Zia hall.
After completion of its construction works, a total of 1200 students will be able to reside in the hall, according to the university sources.
