GOPALGANJ, Oct 21, 2025 (BSS) - Seeds and chemical fertilizers were distributed today among 1570 small and marginal farmers of Tungipara upazila of the district under agriculture incentive programme.

The seeds and fertilizers were distributed on the premises of the Upazila Agriculture Office around 10.30 am today at the initiative of the Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE). 

Additional Director of DAE, Faridpur Region, Md. Khair Uddin Mollah was present as the chief guest with Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Farzana Akhter in the chair. 

Dr. Md. Mamunur Rahman, Deputy Director of the Department of Agricultural Extension, Gopalganj, Additional Deputy Director Md. Abul Bashar Mia, Tungipara Upazila Agricultural Extension Officer Mithun Sarkar and local farmers and officials were present. 

Seeds and fertilizers for khasari, lentil and mustard crops were distributed among 1,570 farmers. Each person received 8 kg of khasari seeds, 10 kg of DAP fertilizer and 5 kg of MOP fertilizer. 

For mustard cultivation, 1 kg of seeds, 10 kg of DAP and 5 kg of MOP fertilizer were distributed, and for lentil cultivation, 2 kg of seeds, 10.5 kg of DAP and 5 kg of MOP were distributed among each of the farmers.
