MANIKGANJ, Oct 21, 2025 (BSS) - The government has taken programme to distribute seeds and fertilizers among 58,350 small and marginal farmers for cultivating Robi crops during the current season in all the seven upazilas of the district.

The distribution of seeds and fertilizers started formally yesterday among the farmers on the premises of Sadar Upazila Officers Club.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Dr Manwar Hossein inaugurated the distribution programme.

Farmers of Jagir and Dighi unions under Sadar upazila received one kg of mustard seed with 10 kgs of Muriate Of Potash (MoP) and 10 kg of di-ammonium phosphate (DAP) each.

Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Sheikh Mejba- Ul Sabrina, Deputy Director of Agriculture Extension (DAE) Shahjahan Siraj and Sadar Upazila Agriculture Officer Masum Bhuiya, among others, were present on the occasion.

A total of 9,620 poor and marginal farmers of Sadar Upazila will get the seeds and fertilizers during the current season, the Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE) office sources said.
