COX’S BAZAR, Oct 20, 2025 (BSS) – Five professional robbers have been arrested in Cox’s Bazar for stabbing a tourist and snatching his mobile phone. 

The arrested persons have been identified as Md Babul ,28, son of Dudu Mia of Dikkul area, Jhilongja union of Cox’s Bazar Sadar; Saiful Islam ,21, son of Md. Selim of Chairman Ghat area of Cox’s Bazar municipality, Md. Sohel ,22, son of Fazal Karim of Natun Baharchhara, Siddique  Prakash Kanaiya ,40, son of Kala Putur of Kalatali area and Imran Sarwar Imon ,25, son of Sarwar of Tekpara area.

The information was disclosed today in a press release sent by Alok Biswas, Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) and the media focal point of Cox’s Bazar district police.

During the time, police seized 10 mobile phones and a motorcycle from their possessions.

Additional SP Alok Biswas said the robbers attacked the tourist named Saifullah from Tangail at Kalatali’s Cultural Centre area on Sunday. 

Following a prompt operation, the police arrested the five suspects from various locations in Cox’s Bazar Sadar.

A case has been filed in this regard.
