SHERPUR, Oct 14, 2025 (BSS) – Vegetable seeds and chemical fertilizers were distributed today among 635 small and marginal farmers of Nakla upazila of the district under agriculture incentive programme.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md. Jahangir Alam inaugurated the distribution programme in front of the upazila parishad on Tuesday afternoon. 

The Upazila Agriculture Department said that under the agricultural incentive programme, 230 farmers of the upazila received 9 packets of various vegetable seeds each for cultivating vegetables in their homesteads during the current season. 

In addition, 405 farmers received gourd, brinjal, cucumber and sweet pumpkin seeds for 20 decimal of cultivable land in the field. 

Besides, 10 kg DAP and 10 kg of MOP fertilizers were distributed to each farmer. 

Assistant Commissioner (Land) Sadia Afrin Annie, Upazila Agriculture Officer, Agriculturist Shahriar Morsalin Mehedi, Agricultural Extension Officer, Agriculturist Sagar Chandra Dey, Deputy Assistant Plant Protection Officer Rahul Amin, Deputy Assistant Agriculture Officers working in different blocks, officers and employees of various departments and beneficiary farmers were present at the event.
