RANGPUR, Oct 13, 2025 (BSS) - Member-secretary of National Citizen Party
(NCP) Akhter Hossen today spent a very busy day with public relations
receiving huge response from common people in Rangpur-4 (Kawnia-Pirgachha)
constituency.
Ahead of the upcoming 13th Jatiya Sangsad elections, Akhter travelled from
village to village, hat-Bazar and neighborhoods of Itakumari and Chhawla
unions in Pirgachha upazila of the district since the morning.
He met common people from all walks of life, shook hands with them, hugged
someone, talked to them and listened to many people attentively and also held
public relation meetings in different places.
During the public relations, the NCP leader exchanged greetings with the
grassroots people and also held public relations with more than two hundred
vans.
During the public relations campaign, he said Rangpur has always been
deprived of development for decades after decades. The people of the Kawnia-
Pirgachha area were not spared from that deprivation.
The development that people have heard about in the last 16 years has not
happened in Kawnia and Pirgachha upazilas where the common people's fate has
remained unchanged.
"If the people vote for the new party NCP candidate in the next election for
the sake of development, and if I can go to parliament and speak, then the
people of these two upazilas will definitely benefit from development," he
continued.
He further said, "We drove away fascism in July 2024. That is our big
achievement. I have no desires in my personal life. The development of
people, the development of the area is what I want. I am working with that
goal."
Regarding the spontaneous response of local voters, Akhter Hossen said,
everyone is looking forward to voting for their worthy candidate and winning
the election.
"There is a good response in the mass communication campaign at all places I
travelled today. I hope something good will happen in the next 13th Jatiya
Sangsad election," he said.
Leaders and activists including NCP Pirgachha Upazila Chief Coordinator
Abdullah Al Mamun accompanied Akhter Hossen in the public relations.
Meanwhile, he will be felicitated at a street rally at the historic Sanai
Market in Haragachh Menaj Bazar in Kawnia upazila after Maghreb today as the
NCP leader was the traveling companion of the Chief Adviser to the United
Nations General Assembly.
He will address the rally in the evening.
Earlier on July 1, at a street rally at Kawnia bus stand in Rangpur, NCP
convener Md Nahid Islam announced Akhtar Hossen as the candidate for the post
of Member of Parliament for Rangpur-4 (Pirgachha-Kawnia) constituency.
In addition to the NCP, the BNP and Jamaat candidates are actively conducting
mass outreach in the constituency in recent weeks.
