PATUAKHALI, Oct 11, 2025 (BSS)- Justice J B M Hassan has emphasized on establishment of a Joint District Judge Court at Kalapara here replacing the existing ‘Chowki Adalat’.

“The Chowki Adalat at Kalapara is important as there are as many as 5600 civil and 2100 criminal cases are now pending there,” he said.

Justice Hassan said this while exchanging greetings with the lawyers at Chowki Adalat Bar Bhaban here today.

District and Sessions Judge of Patuakhali Md Shahidullah was in the chair while it was addressed among others by President of Kalapara Chowki Adalat Bar Association Advocate Khandkar Nasir Uddin.

Judges and judicial officers, and lawyers of the district were present.

Justice Hassan said that special attention should be given to the Kalapara Chowki Adalat as it is totally different from the other Chowki Adalats of the country.
 
Terming the lawyers and the courts are the two wings of a bird he said the litigants can get justice through their coordinated efforts.

Earlier, he inspected the Kalapara Chowki Adalat where the senior lawyers gave him a floral reception.
