JHALOKATHI, Oct 10, 2025 (BSS)- Dr Ziauddin Haider, a member of the BNP Chairperson's Advisory Council, today said that the BNP, as a party of the masses, seeks development that is sustainable, participatory, and people-based.

“The BNP is a party of the masses and its objective is to guarantee the economic progress and self-reliance of the common people. BNP wishes to see small farms emerge in every village and foster entrepreneurship,” he said.

Dr Haider said BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has a plan to introduce ‘Agriculture Card’ for female and rural entrepreneurs.

With this card, the recipients would gain access to several benefits, including bank loans, livestock training, food allowances, and health services, he added.

Dr Ziauddin Haider visited a model farm established by Mahfuz Runa. Runa's farm currently have eighteen Australian Friesian cows along with several goats.

The farm produces approximately 130 liters of milk daily, which is sold in the local market. This successful venture has secured employment not for her family and several neighbors also.

Dr Haidar hoped that hundreds of similar women would come forward in every village to advance their families, society, and the national economy through their own initiative.

He stressed the importance of circulating the success stories to empower rural women to move firmly towards self-reliance.
