KHULNA, Oct 10, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh Navy in a drive arrested a man with 44 kilograms of venison from his local residence in Koyra upazila of the district last Thursday night.

According to sources, the operation was carried out around 11.50pm near the fifth and sixth launch ghats of Koyra.  The venison was recovered from the refrigerator of Md. Selim Howlader, a local resident.

Later, the suspect, along with the seized venison, was handed over to Koyra Police Station for legal proceedings.  Police personnel from the station assisted the Bangladesh Navy team in the operation.

Authorities confirmed that, in line with government directives, the Navy will continue strict patrols and operations in its designated areas to combat drug trafficking, terrorism and illegal wildlife trade as well as to maintain the country's law and order.
