2,13,715 children to get typhoid vaccines in Narail

NARAIL, Oct 9, 2025 (BSS) - A total of 2,13,715 children aged between nine months and under 15 years are set to receive typhoid vaccines under the upcoming Typhoid Vaccination Campaign 2025 in all three upazilas of the district.

The campaign will be conducted over 18 working days in two phases. Vaccination will begin on October 12, with 964 vaccination centres set up across the district and over 8 hundred centres at schools. The campaign will end on 13 November under the Expanded Program on Immunization (EPI).

The information was revealed by Deputy Commissioner Sharmin Akter Jahan while addressing a district-level workshop with media personals at the DC office Conference room on Thursday afternoon.

Organized by the District Information Office with financial support from UNICEF Bangladesh, the workshop was held under the project titled "Awareness Campaign for the Development of Children, Adolescents, and Women."

The Deputy Commissioner highlighted the crucial role of the media in raising awareness and ensuring the success of the nationwide vaccination campaign.

"Typhoid is a preventable disease, and there is no reason to fear the vaccine. Parents and guardians should be encouraged to bring children to vaccination centres on the scheduled date," she said, calling for strong community participation and proactive media support to prevent misinformation.

Narail Civil Surgeon Dr Md Abdur Rashid, DD LG of DC office Julia Sukaina, District Information Officer Md. RostomAli, President of Narail Press Club Advocate SM Abdul Haque, Vice-president Sultan Mahmood, general secretary Mahbubur Rashid Lavlu were present on the occasion.
