Filling station in Cumilla fined TK 50,000 for fraud in oil measurement

CUMILLA, Oct 8, 2025 (BSS) – A mobile court today fined a filling station TK 50,000 on charges of tempering oil measurement at Adarsha Sadar Upazila of the district. 
  
 In a joint initiative of Cumilla District Administration and Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI), Cumilla District this afternoon in Madina Filling Station in Nazirabazar area of Sadar Upazila and fined the filling station TK 50,000 for tempering in oil measurement under sections 29/46 of The Weights and Measures Standards Act, 2018. 
 
The filling station was accused of supplying less than 70 millilitres of oil per 10 litres in octane dispensing unit.
 
They also conducted operations at Jannat Filling and CNG Services and Naimul Filling Station and LPG in the Alekharchar area. But the  filling stations were checked and found accurate.
 
The operation was conducted by Assistant Commissioner and Executive Magistrate of the District Administration and Md. Faridul Islam.
