KHULNA, Oct 8, 2025 (BSS) - A preparatory meeting was held today at the office of Khulna Deputy Commissioner Md. Tofiqur Rahman ahead of the nationwide observance of the Lalon death anniversary on October 17.

Presiding over the meeting, the DC announced that the event has been classified as a "Category A" state program for the first time, reflecting the highest level of government recognition.

In Khulna, a discussion session and cultural program featuring Lalon songs and dance will be held at the District Shilpakala Academy.

The DC urged law enforcement, fire service, medical teams, and volunteers to remain vigilant during the celebrations and called on media representatives to provide extensive coverage of the event.
